The 2011 Startup Genome Report ( a study on success stories of startup companies in Silicon Valley ) revealed that 9 out of 10 Startup companies could not survive first 5 years except for those which were properly Mentored could beat all odds and fare better.

However, selection of a suitable Mentor is not easy. It is more of fate than otherwise.

A good Mentor is one who is knowledgeable, analytical, widely connected, with good personal charisma and with genuine interest to impart.

However, Successful Mentorship requires both hands to clap, that is the Mentor-Mentee process must be 2-way to work.

The Mentor on the one hand must not be dominating, try to draw the best part out of the Mentee and let him or her make all the decisions himself or herself.

The Mentee, on the other hand, must be willing to learn, and the Mentor must be enjoying the process too.

I have mentored a couple of my business owners clients for the past 3 years, abiding by the above Mentorship principles is my secret to Successful Mentorship in achieving the desired results.

I started mentoring non-clients on 2 Structured programs, one for Startup and another one for Scaling-up early this year.

I am planning to start my Unstructured Mentorship probably as early as early next year as a Sparring Partner to only the selected Mentees, in flexible arrangement.

Welcome enquiries on my Mentorship Programs – both Structured and Unstructured.

Will share more during my free previews.
