This question has some what crept up during my recent mentoring session with one of my mentees.
Mentor uses current business data to help his Mentee understand how to better handle his company’s future performance by also making constant references to some historically achieved numbers to illustrate his points.
To some extent, History may repeat itself later and how the Mentee could be better prepared this time to handle the situation if it recurs.
This value proposition in my Mentorship approach has earned much recognition from my Mentees.
I do not “fish” for my Mentees, instead, I offer to my Mentees “more informed” methods to fish for themselves.
Absolutely no spoon-feeding from me.
I am there just to provide the ropes, fresh perspectives, the needed network and me playing the devil’s advocate to challenge my Mentees to challenge themselves to achieve new break throughs.
