There Is No Enemy In Business

Not long ago, an acquaintance I knew on Facebook met me for coffee. During the meeting, he told me he wanted to open a small Corporate Services firm, to provide similar services like my firm, Corporate BackOffice. He asked me for advice how he should go about doing it.

I taught him the tips to do and the pitfalls to avoid.

He really set up his corporate services firm. Instead of competing with me, this “friend” began to refer me prospect clients whom he thinks he has limited capacity to take on, and he would like my firm to take on so as not to waste the lead. This has been going on for a while, and it has evolved into a situation where bigger clients he would refer to us, and we will reciprocate by referring smaller clients with smaller budget to him.

Recently, another ventured out to provide Corporate Governance and Risk Avoidance services. Again, this friend asked me for tips how he should go about doing it. I shared my past failure cases, pitfalls for him to avoid and tips to watch out for.

I even invited this latest friend to my knowledge sharing.

He is so appreciative that he began to market our corporate services.

There is no Enemy in business. Try to help others, even our competitors, for what you know, he or she may reciprocate positively.
