Hiring Smart

A client was discussing with me a Job Ad he was going to put up with a very detail Job Description, and even a more stringent Job Requirement.
After reviewing through the ad, I asked him one question, “Do You have a good budget for this position? “
My client said “Not really”
My 2-cents worth input was, Keep the job ad simple, job description as generic as possible, but highlight the unique company culture and the good learning environment at work instead. This is because a lengthy Job Description and a stringent Job Requirement will mean the Candidate who dares to apply for this post is going to expect a higher salary and a good overall package.
You can always give the chosen candidate later this detail Job Description on his work commencement day as part of his orientation program.
After all, every new staff will be under-going a Probation period. You can always decide whether to confirm or not later.
Be as friendly as possible in our recruitment exercise, for the latter is also a rare chance to portray a good and very positive company’s public image. If done positively and well, will in fact be a good marketing and public relation opportunity for the company.
Good Image of your Company equates to Good Branding.
Something Money can’t buy.
