Let me try to distinguish some key points between the 2…
All foreigners who intend to work in Singapore must have a valid pass before they start work.
If you are engaging foreigners to work in Singapore, you must ensure that they hold a valid pass.
Employment Pass
* The Employment Pass allows foreign professionals, managers & executives to work in Singapore
* Candidates need to earn at least $3,300 a month & have acceptable qualifications
* The duration of the pass is as follows:
a) 1st-time candidates: up to 2 years
b) Renewals: up to 3 years
EntrePass
* EntrePass or Entrepreneur Pass allows eligible foreigners to start & operate a new business in Singapore
* No stipulated minimum salary
* You are eligible for an EntrePass if:
a) You have (or intend to start) a private limited company registered with the ACRA or Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Board
– If registered, the company must be < 6 months old on the date you apply.
– If you have not registered, you can wait for the outcome of your application before registering.
b) Your company has minimum $50,000 in paid-up-capital. ( You need to provide a bank statement that shows at least $50,000 in a Singapore-based company bank account ).
c) You hold at least 30% of the shares in the company.
