Resolving Disputes Smartly So As To Conduct A Boardroom Meeting Effectively

During my 25 years in the corporate world, I have seen many disputes in the boardroom.
The meeting can either be dominated by one or two personnel, or that the meeting is dominated by polarized groups with different view points, and the meeting would appear to be stalemate and a total waste of everyone’s precious time.
At this juncture, just walk straight towards the White Board, face the dominating or opposing party by asking and then writing down the views or root cause of the dispute in bullet pointers on the white board.
Then go around the conference table to ask and brainstorm for ideas, and then write them down on the White Board one by one.
Thereafter go around the table to ask for votes for each pointer, and then cross them out one by one.
The pointer with the highest vote will be the resolution by consensus.
Period. No rocket science.
Someone has to take the lead to move the meeting forward.
This will be most effective and democratic way to conduct a meeting by consensus.
Try it.
It works most of the time for me last time.
