Get Back To “Basics” When Things Get Messy!
I was chatting with a business owner client today. He complained how his existing Accountant for inaccurate accounts, complained about his Admin Assistant for not keeping proper paperwork, complained about his staff for not motivated to work, and the list goes on ….
After listening to him, I reached a simple conclusion…He just couldn’t care, and the last person he would complain would be himself.
He is not inquisitive, not hungry for new knowledge, does not care about his staff, does not look at the financial statements of his business…
He just “assumes” everything and everyone around him would be fine…
I asked him if he knows the exact amount of his unfulfilled Orders Booked now, he asked where to and how to know ?
I asked him if he knows his Bank balance at beginning of the day today, his reply was his Accountant would know better.
I asked him what are his Orders booked today by 3pm, he replied Don’t Know!
In this real business world, we as business owners, would need to take care of the most minute details in business like Workflows, Documents flow, System flow, Information flow, Discipline, Controls, SOPs …
If you don’t care, who else will ?
