Earn Your Applause

台上三分钟,台下十年功。
It simply means, behind the 3 minutes performance on the stage is 10 years of consistent practices!
It is my accounting practice of presenting to my business owner clients how their respective businesses have performed during the preceding month.
So far, none of my presentation formats was repeated or duplicated between my clients!
Every of my clients’ businesses is very different. Different business models, different revenue generating models and hence revenue recognitions, different cost-matching principles, different Cash positions, different Gearings, different Shareholding compositions, different entity structuring, etc.
I would spend hours before every of the monthly Business Review Meetings with my clients to analyze and review their performances, and interpret what they would mean to my clients individually in their own languages they would understand.
Every time after my 2-3 hours of Business Review Meetings with my business owner clients, I would see the big Smiles on their faces, showing great sense of Enlightenment.
They would say “Thank You” and many times they would text me personally to say “Thank You so much”.
Earn your own applauses. It does not mean the amount of applauses would commensurate with your quantum of Effort put in.
Applause cannot be demanded. Applause needs to be Earned.
Interpret and Simplify for, and Empathize with your clients to earn your own Applause.
